Hvert år arrangeres ATLS Global Symposium (GS) sammen med American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) møtet i USA. I forbindelse med møtene, gjennomføres også Resident and Fellow Trauma Paper Competition (RFTPC) som er en akademisk konkurranse mellom vinnerne fra alle de 17 ACS COT regionene i verden. Alle de regionale vinnerne må levere inn en full artikkel i forkant av møte og får oppnevnte en opponent som vil diskutere forskningen etter presentasjonen. Reise og opphold dekkes.
ATLS Norge er i ACS COT region 15 sammen med 29 andre land og i 2024 var det Sophia Engel fra Ullevål og Norge som stakk av med seieren i region. Hun fikk dermed tur til både Chicago og Praha der vi hadde vårt region 15 møte, så her har Norge kommet langt tidligere. Detaljer om 2027 finner du her.

2027 ACS Resident & Fellow Trauma Paper Competition – Call for Abstracts
Are you a surgical resident or trauma fellow with original research in trauma care?
The ACS Committee on Trauma is now inviting submissions for the 2027 Resident and Fellow Trauma Paper Competition, and we strongly encourage trainees from across AEA / ACS COT Region 15 to participate.
This is an outstanding opportunity for young surgeons and trauma fellows to present their work on an international stage.
The Region 15 winner will be invited to present at the ACS Committee on Trauma Annual Meeting in Chicago, USA, on March 11, 2027.
Travel and accommodation are covered by the competition for the regional winner selected to participate in the Central Competition.
Research may address any aspect of trauma care, including clinical investigation or basic laboratory research. The competition is open to general surgery residents, surgical specialty residents, and trauma fellows.

We encourage all 29 AEA member countries to share this opportunity widely with residents, fellows, trauma centres, surgical departments, universities, and national trauma networks.
